Etymology

Heathrow is (la ) Hetherewe t. Hy 5Ct , Hetherowfeyld t. Hy 8MinAcct , Hitherowe 1547 Pat, 1553 FF and was perhaps the home of Richard de Bruera (13thAD 3236) and John atte Hethe (1342 NI). The name probably referred to a row of houses at the western edge of Hounslow Heath. v. ræw .
