Horsendon Hill is Horsendun 1203 FF, Horsendune 14thAddCh , in bosco de Horsedon , Horsindon 1302WDB , Horsington Hill 1819 G and was the home of John de Horsindune (1262 AD iii).The persistent n shows that this name is probably to be interpreted as 'Horsa 's down or hill pasture' (v. dun ) from OE  Horsan dūn rather than 'horses' down' (OE  horsa dūn ).
