Etymology

'Otti's farmstead, village' v. , the first el. being the ODan  pers.n. Otti , which Fellows-Jensen, SSNEM 62, points out had been thought to be an early loan from Continental Germanic, but has been shown to be a hypocoristic form of Ottarr . Otti is found independently in DB in Sf and Y.
