'Flik's fortified place', v. burh . This is a hybrid p.n. with the first el. the ON  byname Flík , the second OE  burh. It is highly likely that in a p.n. with burh as second el. the ON first el. has replaced an earlier OE word or pers.n. A very important AS site has recently been excavated here.
