Etymology
'The new building, the new dwelling', v. nīwe , botl , bold . The manor was held in 1243 Fees by heres Roberti de la Sauce (MLat heres 'an heir') and in 1252 AD by Simon de la Saucey . The family probably originally came from La Saussaye (Eure). Affixes refer also to Owston supra and to Lowesby in East Goscote Hundred (v. Lei 3168).
