Etymology

'Dudda's farm' v. ingtun , with the same curious development of i from u that we have in Denham, Dinton (Bk, W), Dinnington (Nb) and in Dinton (Nth), DBDodintone . Skeat suggests that the name may have been influenced by the not very distant Dillington, but in view of the parallels quoted it is evident that this development might arise independently.
