Etymology

Rivershill Green (6″) was the home of William de la Ryvere (1266FF ), Simon de la Rivere (1296SR ) and William de Evere (1296, 1307 ib.). This is from ME  (at ) ther evere , 'at the slope,' v. yfre and cf. River (PN Sx 123). There are fields in the neighbourhood still called Far Rivers Valley and Upper Rivers Valley .
