Etymology
St Germain's Fm (6″) is near the site of a chapel dedicated to Saint Germanus of Auxerre (cf. Germansweek PN D 183). Cf. capellæ Sancti Germani 12th Gesta, (pro ) prato , fossatum Sancti Germani 1335–49 ib., St Jermaynes Chappell , St Jarmyns 1558, St Germines lands 1569 Verulam.
