Etymology

Wildhill is Wyldhulle 1365, Wyldehelle 1433 AD i, Wildehellestret 1443Cecil . Cf. also Wyldegrene 1402 AD i near by and Wyldemor 1301 Ipm (Bushey). Wild may have the sense of 'waste, uncultivated,' cf. Willand (PN D 553) and Wildwood (PN Sr 224).
