Etymology

Haydens (TA ) is Eydons 1476 Cl, 1485 Ipm and must be associated with the family of Roger de Heydene (13th AD i), de Eyden (1269 ib.) and John de Heydene (1307SR ). 'Hay valley,' v. denu . This family may have taken its name from the heidene of BCS 245, in the northern part of the parish.The place is South-east of Organ Hall, on the Ridge boundary.
