Etymology

'Little farmstead', v. lȳtel (wk.obl. lȳtlan ), tūn . At the time of the DB inquest it appears to have been included in Tormarton and was doubtless 'little' in relation to the latter. 'West' in relation to Littleton Drew in Wiltshire (W 76).
