Etymology

Bleek's Vallets, Bleeks Fellett 1655Comm . The second el. in this name, Sallow Vallets and Valletts Wood (infra ) is an OE  *fellet , Merc  *fællet , 'a clump of felled trees', surviving as Gl dial. fellet 'a portion of a wood felled annually' (v. fellet ). The first el. is uncertain, but may be a byname connected with e.ModE  bleak 'pale, wan'.
