Stratford Bridge, Stretford (e )1182 Wo 160, 1315–39 WinchLB, 1319, 1347 Pat, Stratford (e )1287Ass , 1321 WinchLB. 'Ford on the Roman road', v. strǣt , ford . The road is the old road from Worcester to Tewkesbury across Ripple Brook; it was also a salt-way (cf. Wo 6).
