Etymology

'The queen's farmstead', v. cwēn , tūn . The Quenin - forms arise from confusion with Quenington (45supra ). Nether - and Over - refer to the two villages of Lower and Upper Quinton, and Marmion to the family of Marmion (cf. Robert Marmion 1236 Fees, v. also 1327SR ).
