Etymology

'The priests' farmstead', v. prēost , tūn , and R. Stour (11supra ). The reference may be to the monks of Deerhurst, for in 804 lands æt Sture 'at the Stour' and Todenham (258infra ) were to be given to Deerhurst (BCS 313).
