Etymology

On the evidence of the Weni - and Wulin - spellings, this would seem to be 'farmstead associated with Willa', v. -ing 4 , tūn . The OE  pers.n. Willa is recorded and this could become Wylla through the influence of w - (cf. Bülbring § 283), ME  Wull -, Ull - (cf. Phonol. § 42b ). Ullingswick (He) is similarly from Willa (cf. DEPN s.n.).
