Etymology

'Farmstead associated with Lilla', v. -ing 4 , tūn . The pers.n. is OE  Lilla , which is also found in Lillewere (164 infra ). The current form is a contraction of the ME  Lillin -; the older Lilton is a normal reduction in this type of name.
