Netherton (partly in Fairford parish), 1746GR 540, Nether Towne 1574MBks , probably identical with Netheruppe 1574TRMB .'Lower farm', v. neoðera , tūn , þrop (cf. Hatherop supra ); it is on the lower part of Hatherop Hill.
