Etymology

Gooseditch (lost), (le ) Gosedich 'c. 1220, c. 1230, c. 1260 GlR, Gosedik '1248Ass , 1455 Cole, Gosedissh c. 1230 GlR, Gosedyche 1539 LP. 'Ditch frequented by geese', v. gōs , dīc . It was in the neighbourhood of Bearland towards Rikenel Stile (Cole 110), and may well have been a ditch along the south wall of the city.
