Battle Bridge (1779 Rudder), Battledene Fm, on badelan broc 1005 (12th) KCD 714, Badles 1815M . 'Bædela's brook', v. brōc , and a wk. form of the pers.n. in Battlescombe (118supra ), Battledown (ii, 97infra ); as in the latter the modern form is due to the influence of the word battle .
