Etymology

East Hall (6″) is Esthull 1518 AD iv. The solitary form means 'East Hill,' but the place is only about 15 feet above sea-level.For similar confusion cf. Blake Hall and Hullgreen supra 53, 64.As the place is in the west of the parish, it can only be called East because east of Rainham Marsh.
