Etymology

Frame Barn (6″), Freme alias Frame Fm is Frerne 1545 LP, Ferne t. Hy 8 EA xi. ME  freren , gen. pl. of frere , 'friar .' This belonged to Beeleigh Abbey. Cf. Fryerning supra 254, Frame Fm infra 391, ffreme Garden in Stapleford Abbots (t. Hy 8AOMB ), which belonged to Bury St Edmunds, and Fream (PN Sr 72, s. n. Chessington Court).
