Stanmer (lost) is Stantmere 1086 DB, Stan (e )mere 1218, 1222 Fees, t. Hy 3WalthamA , Stamere ib. (p). Perhaps 'stone pool.'v. stan , mere . The t in the first form may be a mistake. Alternatively it may point to OE  stǣniht , 'stony.'
