Etymology

Blind Knights is Blindeknygthes 1364 Colch, Blind Knightes 1544MinAcct , and is said to have been given to St Botolph's Priory by Richard I for the maintenance of certain knights who had lost eyes or limbs in the Crusades (M i, 412). Cf. Blindgrooms PN K 364.
