Etymology

Probably a singular name in ing. Ekwall's suggestion (PN in -ing 10) that it is really the name of the stream which forms Lawling Creek finds support in the phrase in quadam aqua uocata Lallyngge (1328Ass ). For Danegeris v. Runsell Green infra 249.
