Etymology

Wyebridge Fm is Wybregg , Wybreggecroft 1237 HPD, Wybregg now called Bollesbregg (e ), Wybreggescroft now called Bolliscroft 1315 ib., Wybrigge al. Standes Wibrigge 1559FF , Wybridges 1768 M.The history of the name Wyebridge is uncertain. If it is local in origin it may contain a lost name of the Beam River. On Chapman's map the stream flowing into the Beam just north of this is Bowles Brook (Bollesbroke 1303 HPD). It is clear that the bridge (with the brook and croft) took its other name from some man called Bolle , a common ME name.
