Etymology

v. Roding supra 490–1. comitis Warennie from William de Warren , Earl of Surrey, to whom the manor was granted in 1088 (M ii, 465). Bardulf from Doun Bardulf who granted three acres in Roding to Dunmow Priory (Dunmow ). High from its position.
