Etymology

(Lower) Moulsham's Fm is Mulso in Wiggebarowe 1412 FA, Mowshams 1588LRMB . 'Mul 's ridge' or 'mule's ridge,' v. hoh .The farm is on a slope near a hill rising to 100 ft. Lower Moulsham's Fm is about a mile-and-a-half away, just below 50 ft. The modern form is a manorial re-fashioning due to the possessions here of the family of Philip de Molesham (1304 FF).
