Cornish Hall (End) olim Norton is Norton 1235 FF, Nortonhalle 1378 Cl, Nortonstrete 1425, 1561Rental , Cornerthys 1381 IpmR, North Hall alias Corners Hall 1395 BM, Northhalle 1425Rental , Cornerdes 1428 FA, Cornertheshalle 1475Ct , Cornerde alias Cornerdeshall 1490Ct , Corner Hall 1536 BM, Cornorthall Manor 1563, Corneshall 1601 Lancs, Cornett , vulgarly Cornish Hall 1768 M. Originally 'north tun.' In the extreme north of the parish. Later re-named from the family of Richard de Cornerde (1303 FA) of Cornard (Sf). For the development cf. Garnish Hall supra 84.

Norton survives as a field-name Nortons.
