Early-attested site in the Parish of East Hanningfield

Etymology

Pan Fm (6″). Cf. Pan (t )feld (mede )1391Rental , Panfeld Mead 1571Sessions , Pan Field c. 1840 TA. This lies near a small stream which flows north from South Hanningfield and ultimately joins the Chelmer at Little Baddow Mill. In South Hanningfield it passes Pandan Wood (6″), which is doubtless for earlier Pantdene . Cf. Pant supra 9–10.
