Etymology

Harriett's Fm [herjəts] (6″) is said by Morant (ii, 386) to be so called from Henry de Bockyng (1315 FF). If so, it is identical with Herryes , Harryes 1352, 1476 M, Herryes of Bokkyng , Herryes de Bockyng 1417, 15thCt , but the relation between these forms and Herryottisfeld , herriotteslane , Gocesheriottes , Goseshariottes 1383– 1402Ct is not clear. Goses - is from the family of John Goos (1405 ib.).
