Etymology

Bone Bridge (6″) and Broomhill End (6″) are Born (e )croft , Born (e )hull '1391, le Bornhell 1395, Bornebrygge 1505Ct and Catbromhel 1406, le Bromhell 1413, Pokbromehyll 1540Ct , Potbromehilles 1595Rental and were probably the homes of Pake de la burne and Robert de la brome (1312–13Ct ). v. burna , brom .The latter was formerly 'the broom-covered hill haunted by wild cats or goblins,' v. puca .
