Etymology

Thicko (6″) is Tykeho 1248Ass (p), Tikehou , Ticho 1387Walden , Thykho 1272 FF, Thikhoo 1495, Thykkoo 1547FF .OE  þicca , 'thicket,' and hoh, 'ridge, spur.' It might also be 'thick hill.' The initial t for th is due to Anglo-Norman influence.v. IPN 108.
