Hy 3 Ipm, Brenyng (ge )1285 Ipm, 1303 FF, 1384 Ch, 1421 IpmR, Bremyng ' in vill de Essendon 1285Ass , Breminge 1337 Cl, Brenge 1483 IpmR, Brynge alias Bowcers alias Benghoo alias Bowchers Hall 1607 EA ix. OE  bærning , 'burning,' in the sense 'land cleared by burning.' John le Burser had a messuage in Brenyngg in 1303 (FF), which was still in the possession of the Bourchier family in 1421 (IpmR).
