The Crofts (6″). Cf. Capelcroft , Engcroft , Fyskercroft 1235–49 Melsa, from ME  capel (OWScand  kapall 'horse,' from Irish capall 'horse' or Scots Gael  capall 'mare'), eng , OScand  fiskari 'fisherman' and croft .
