Etymology

'Home of Godmund and his people,' v. ingaham . The early loss of medial ing is noteworthy. The same pers. name is found in Godmanchester (PN BedsHu 255) and Gumley (Lei), Godmundesleah c. 780 BM, Guthmundelai 1147 ib., the latter showing the same influence of OScand  Guðmundr which we find in Goodmanham.
