molend' de Clive, molend' de Clyue in villa de Sturewestouere 1288(v. clif(dat.sg. clife)'cliff, bank', no doubt with reference to the bank of R. Stouron which the mill would be situated, cf. the f.n. Cle(a)ve in E Stour par.supra and cf. Seuemelne infra for another(and contemporary) mill here;there were three mills in Sture(E & W Stour) in 1086 DB, v. VCHDo 382)
