Cuckoo's Hill (local, about SY 588855), Cokellyshulle , Cokeshull '1400Ilch , Cocklehill waye 1557Fry , these preserving the landmark on cuceles hylle , of cuceles [hylle ]…on cuceles hylle 1024Ilch (KCD 741, S 961) at the starting and finishing point of the Anglo-Saxon bounds of Portisham, '*Cucel's hill', from a diminutive form of the OE  masc. pers.n. *Cuca adduced for Cuxwold L 474 and hyll .
