Etymology

Tollerford (SY 592976), Tollerford 1774 Hutch1, 1795 Boswell, 1811 OS, T (h )olreford (')1288Ass , 'ford over R. Toller (the old name of R. Hooke)', v. ford , v. hundred-name supra and RNs. infra . As stated in Hutch1 1507: 'Tollerford, which gives name to the hundred, is now only a ground at the centre of four cross-ways, near a ford over a rivulet [i.e. R.
