Etymology

'Lulla's enclosure', from the OE  pers.n. Lulla and worð; the early forms in -s - show interchange with the strong form of the pers.n. found in Lolworth C 180, and the isolated form -wurdi (1196) shows interchange of the second el. with worðig . East to distinguish it from West Lulworth par. infra where some of the above forms without affix may strictly belong, v. ēast .
