Coombe Chalk Pit infra ), with land , clos(e), ende , probably here in the sense 'end of a village'; the road (regia via , venella ) referred to is probably that between Coombe K. and E Lulworth; there is a stream marked (6″) 450 yds ENE and a spring 300 yds NW (cf. aquam , fonte ).
