Historical Forms

  • Kaine Place Creke c.1550 Leland
  • Keame t.Eliz Worth 1629 FF 1643 Worth
  • Came 1765 D

Etymology

The forms are too late for any etymology to be suggested, but it is clear that the -ham is quite modern. Leland's spelling is probably a mistake for Kame .
