Etymology

This was probably a stream-name, originally identical with Doferic (Wo), a derivative of the British dubro - (W  dwfr ), 'water' (cf. Ekwall RN 136, Blomé 131). The name must have been used of the stream which unites with Holly Water to form the Creedy river.
