Etymology
It is spelt Yerneristorre in the Buckfast Cartulary, but this must be an error. Donne's map (1765) has Yestor . The meaning is 'eagle's tor ,' v. earn . Cf. Easdon infra 482 and the later forms of Yarnscombe supra 82.
