Etymology

'Poll 's marsh,' v. Slew supra 28, with common confusion of the second element with hlaw , hlæw . This pers. name is apparently found also in Polesden and Pollingfold (Sr), Pollesdene 1279 QW, Pollingfold 1241 FF, and in Polesworth (PN Wa 95).
