John (1313) Ch, Chaffecumbe 1235 FF, Chefcumbe 1252, Chefcombe 1314 Ipm, and contain the same first element as Chafford Hundred (Ess), Cesfeworda , Ceffeorda 1086 DB, Ceaffeworda 1130 P. Professor Ekwall would take it to be a pers. name Ceaffa .
