Etymology

v. healh . Robert Bosom held the manor in 1395 and John Bozon in 1408 (Exon), the family, variously spelt Buzun , Bauzan , Bauceyn , Bozon , having been associated with the neighbourhood since c. 1170–96 (Totnes). The connexion of the Payn family with the manor is not known.
