Etymology
The place was held TRE by one Donin (Exch DB Donninc ), which must be the OE pers. name Dunning . Hence, 'Dunning 's farm,' v. tun . In DB there was a manor called Alwinestona , held with Donicestona by one Alwin (TRE). Cf. Alston supra 307.
