Etymology

'Church farm' v. cyric(e), tun . Cf. Cheriton supra 59 and Addenda, Part i, lii, s. n. Churchill. Roger, son of Pagan , held the manor in 1256 (FF) and the patron of the church was Roger filius Pagani in 1274 (Exon). Santone refers to Thomas de Santon ' who held three parts of a fee in Churiton in 1242 (Fees).
