Weatherwick (lost), Wetherwike 1276 Cl, Withirwyk 1415DuLaMB , Wederwick 1569 Lanc, Wytherwickes 1563 ib, Wetherwicke 1610DuLa , Wetherwickes 1630DuLaSC , Wetherwick acre 1638CPG , Weather wicke acre c. 1750 ib. Perhaps 'farm where wethers were kept', v. weðer , wīc . Alternatively the first element may be a family name; cf. William Withir , Withur 1415DuLaMB , who held fairly extensive lands at that date.
